Joshi meets villagers, pilgrims & soldiers at Mana near Badrinath

Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi visited border village Mana in Chamoli district on Thursday. In his visit the minister met the villagers and armed forces personnel deployed there. He appreciated the army personnel for their enthusiasm and dedication to serve the nation.

 During his visit the minister interacted with pilgrims, shopkeepers and locals in the market of Mana. He also took feedback from the visitors about the Yatra arrangements and facilities.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for renaming Mana village from last village to the first village of the country, the minister said that the culture, tradition and patriotism of the people here is a source of inspiration for the entire Uttarakhand. He said that the efforts are being made to increase tourism and economic activities in the area. Joshi said that the State government is empowering women through the self-help groups and more than 1.65 Lakhpati Didis have so far been made in the State.

The minister also paid obeisance at the Badrinath temple. On his way back the minister also met labourers working on the national highway and distributed sweets to them.
