The ministerial employees under the banner of the Uttarakhand Federation of Ministerial Services Associations staged a one-day sit-in at the tehsil premises here on Friday, pressing for a 12-point charter of demands.
The protest was staged on the call of the federation, with employees of the Ramnagar coordinating body participating in the demonstration. Following the sit-in, a memorandum addressed to the chief minister was submitted through the sub-divisional magistrate, seeking early resolution of their demands.
Anand Singh Rawat and Mohit Singh Rathore were among those who led the employees’ demonstration.
Among the key demands are up-gradation of the pay scale of junior assistants to Level-5, merger of the posts of senior assistant and administrative officer with the designation of administrative officer and merger of the posts of senior administrative officer and chief administrative officer with the designation of chief administrative officer.
The employees also demanded creation of additional posts of deputy director (Administration) in Pay Level-11, removal of difficulties related to the Golden Card scheme and clear definition of the duties and responsibilities of the chief administrative officer.
Other demands include promulgation of common service rules for ministerial employees and an end to outsourcing appointments against ministerial posts.
Rawat, who is the chief convenor, appealed to employees to ensure full participation in the next phase of the agitation. “We will continue its movement until its demands are addressed,” he added.
