MLA Chauhan distributes aid of Rs 5 Lakh each to Dharali disaster affected

On the instruction of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the administration handed over the cheques of Rs five lakh each to the disaster affected families on Monday. The cheques were handed over by Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan to 98 affected families. On Saturday, the CM had announced an aid of Rs five lakh each to every affected family in Dharali. The MLA was accompanied by local public representatives, officers of administration and local residents.
CM Dhami said that the assistance is the primary phase of the relief measures. He said that the State government has constituted a three member committee to assess the loss caused by the disaster to the houses, buildings, homestays, livestock and orchards. The committee will hand over its detailed report within seven days and based on the report, a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package will be prepared. The package will provide long term assistance to the affected families.
“The people residing in the disaster affected areas are like my family members. The State government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the affected families during this hour of need. The reconstruction and rehabilitation works will be accorded priority so that all the normalcy returns for the affected families,’’, he said.
