MLALAD utilisation poor in U’khand

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the information received from rural development commissioner’s office under the Right to Information has shown most of the MLAs of the State in poor light regarding the utilisation of MLA Local Area Development fund. From 2022 to 2024, while Rs 964 crore was allocated to 70 MLAs they could utilise only Rs 589.21 crore: the rate of utilisation stands at 61 per cent.
As far as the performance of the State ministers is concerned, Saurabh Bahuguna– Sitarganj MLA-tops the list with 85 per cent of the funds being utilised Next comes Ganesh Joshi- MLA from Mussoorie- whose utilisation figure is 72 per cent. The figures for some other ministers are Rekha Arya (Someshwar) 64 per cent, Subodh Uniyal (Narendra Nagar) 57 per cent and Satpal Maharaj (Chaubattakhal) 56 per cent.
Dhan Singh Rawat utilised 29 per cent while Prem Chand Aggarwal utilised 33 per cent of the funds allocated to them as MLAs. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami utilised just 53 per cent as per the information received.
