The Mool Niwas- Bhoo Kanoon Samanvya Sangharsh Samiti (MNBKSSS) has asked the State government to provide compensation of Rs one crore to the family members of Deepak Badola alias Ravi who was killed in the shootout at Dobhal Chowk in the Nehrugram area on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday attended also by Ravi Badola’s parents, the committee’s spokesperson Mohit Dimri said that the State government should compensate the bereaved parents who had lost their son in the shootout. “This is a heinous crime. While Badola was killed two others who received bullet injuries too are now battling for their lives. Given the grim financial crisis Badela’s family is in, our committee appeals to the State government to provide a government job for Badola’s widow in addition to announcing a compensation of Rs one crore. This aside, the injured should be provided compensation of Rs 20 lakh each. We also demand expeditious legal proceedings in a fast-track court to ensure swift justice for the dead and punishment for the perpetrators of the crime,” Dimri said.
The widow of Ravi Badola, Purvi Badola also spoke at the press conference and made the same financial assistance appeal to the State government in the form of a government job. “Besides, as we are feeling insecure, the State government should provide us with adequate security and this should continue as long as the case proceeds in court. Further, the case should be tried through a fast-track court to ensure quick justice for my husband,” she said.
Mool Niwas committee gives a call for Dehradun bandh today
DEHRADUN: The Mool Niwas- Bhoo Kanoon Samanvya Sangharsh Samiti (MNBKSSS) has given a call for Dehradun bandh on Thursday in protest against the shootout incident at Dobhal Chowk in the Nehrugram area.
Addressing the media, the spokesperson of the committee Mohit Dimri urged the residents of Dehradun, especially the youth, to help the bandh become total. “The objective behind calling the shutdown is to draw people’s attention to the crime committed on Sunday and to make sure that such incidents do not recur.
