With the monsoon appearing to be on the wane as humidity and above average temperatures mark the days in most parts of the State, 10 of the 13 districts of the State are forecast to witness heavy rain on Sunday. The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Bageshwar districts today. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Derhadun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain / thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two may be heavy. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in various parts of the State remained above normal on Saturday with the maximum and minimum being 31.2 degrees Celsius and 23.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33 degrees Celsius and 26.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 32.5 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.6 degrees Celsius and 16.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
