More than 16 lakh register so far for Char Dham Yatra

Govt committed to ensuring convenient & safe experience for pilgrims: Maharaj
The State government is committed to ensuring a convenient and safe experience for those undertaking the Char Dham Yatra. With more than 16 lakh people registering so far for the Char Dham Yatra, the government has made all necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage, said the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj. He said that personnel had been outsourced for assistance and security of the pilgrims. The minister requested the people to register in order to take the full benefit of extensive facilities made for them.
Maharaj said that registration for the Char Dham Yatra was started on February 18 and till now a total of 16,89,496 people had registered for the pilgrimage. These people include 6,00,434 who have registered for Kedarnath, 5,07,759 for Badrinath, 3,07,068 for Gangotri and 2,62,621 for Yamunotri. Apart from the Char Dham temples, 11,614 have registered for Hemkund Sahib. The minister further informed that the booking for Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) guest houses was started on February 16 and the bookings made so far amount to Rs 10.15 crore. He requested all those interested in undertaking the Char Dham Yatra to register in order to fully benefit from the facilities made by the government.
