In latest news from Uttarakhand, mother-son duo was killed in an accident at Bamanpuri in Sitaraganj under Udham Singh Nagar district. Police said that the scooty they were riding had a head-on crash, resulting in the death of the 18-year-old Ankit. His mother, Janki Devi (45) was rushed to the community health centre at Sitaraganj where she succumbed during treatment. They were going to Khatima to meet relatives when the container truck coming from the opposite direction collided with the scooty they were riding. The truck driver fled while police impounded the truck.
