Mothrowala public park almost ready, to open soon

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
The Dehradun municipal commissioner Namami Bansal stated that the new public park coming up in Mothrowala is in its final stages and will soon be opened for residents.
Inspecting the site on Tuesday she asked the officials and the executing agency to finish the remaining work on time and ensure quality is maintained. The park is being developed over nearly 6,000 square metres. Most of the construction work has been completed and finishing touches, along with beautification, are currently underway.
The park has been designed keeping both recreation and wellness in mind. It will have walking tracks for daily visitors, gazebos for sitting and a dedicated yoga and meditation area. A central developed water body is also being created which could become one of the main attractions of the park, Bansal said.
Basic facilities for visitors include kiosks and a smart toilet to improve convenience and hygiene. She stated that efforts are being made to keep the space clean, safe and suitable for families, especially children.
To avoid parking issues, a separate parking area of around 1,200 square metres is also being developed within the park premises.
Bansal added that such green spaces are important as residential areas expand and more people look for nearby places to walk, relax or spend time outdoors. Once opened, the park is expected to cater not just to residents of Mothrowala but also to nearby localities.
She said that the park will add to the city’s green cover and provide a much-needed open space for people. Bansal indicated that the opening is likely soon, once the remaining work is completed and final checks are done.
