A three-member delegation from the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education visited the Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) in Ramnagar on May 25-26.
According to officials, the delegation was led by additional secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education Priyanka Goyal. Other members included examination coordinator Aarti Athawale and Kshama Dubey, SSSA head. They visited the PARAKH Cell of the Uttarakhand board to view its activities. Currently, the PARAKH Cell is conducting workshops on the new PARAKH Taxonomy and developing question papers based on it. They will soon begin generating question papers using ITMS software. Additionally, the piloting of the Holistic Progress Card is underway in 95 schools across the State, with continuous monitoring by the Board, officials said.
Officials further informed that to observe the implementation of this work, the delegation visited MP Inter College in Ramnagar, where they assessed the on-the-ground execution of the overall progress report and interacted with students in class IX. The delegation examined the entries made by the students in the overall progress report and posed questions regarding it, which the students answered accurately. According to officials, the delegation praised the students for their work.
Following this, the delegation shared information about their board’s activities and experiences with the council officials and learned about the UVSP operations. In his address, UVSP secretary Vinod Prasad Simalti commended the efforts made by PARAKH, under the leadership of Indrani Bhaduri, to achieve equivalence among all school boards in the country. He emphasised that discrepancies arising from different operational methods can be eliminated through efforts towards uniformity. He urged officials from all boards to continuously share ideas with one another.
