The municipal commissioner of Dehradun Namami Bansal conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing development work at the Devbhoomi Rajat Jayanti Park in the IT Park area on Thursday. The park is being developed over an area of approximately 2,400 square metres.
During the visit, the commissioner reviewed progress on several components including pathway construction, plantation, fountains, seating arrangements, children’s play equipment, lighting and other beautification works.
She directed officials and the executing agency to ensure quality in all aspects of construction and to complete the work within the given timeline. Considering the monsoon season, Bansal asked for an accelerated pace of work so that residents can access the park’s facilities at the earliest. She stated that the park is being developed by the municipal corporation as a clean and green public space for residents of the IT Park and nearby areas.
She stated that the park is expected to serve as a space for recreation for children, rest and yoga for senior citizens and health related activities for the general public. It is also intended to contribute to the environmental quality of the area. The corporation aims to provide urban facilities and public spaces to improve the living conditions of citizens, Bansal added.
