In latest news from Uttarakhand, the first glass floor suspension bridge in north India is all set to be opened to the people in Rishikesh over the river Ganga. According to the PWD officers based in Narendra Nagar, the bridge would be readied for inauguration in January next year with 70 per cent works having already been completed. Notably, this new bridge is coming up with vehicular movement remaining stalled in the iconic suspension bridge in Rishikesh known as Lakshman Jhula due to its oldness since April 2022. The new glass floor bridge has been named Bajrang Bridge. It is further learnt that the Ganga and the surrounding hills would be clearly visible from the new bridge as its walls along with the floor would be made of glass. And two wheelers would be allowed to ply on it.
