NABARD to organise special programme to mark 45th foundation day

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will organise a programme, ‘Increasing Ground Level Credit Flow by Rural Financial Institutions’ in Dehradun on July 14. The event is being organised to mark the 45th foundation of NABARD and will focus on its achievements over the past 45 years and future strategies for strengthening agriculture and rural development. Uttarakhand cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat will attend the programme as chief guest.
An official communique informs that in financial Year 2025–26, NABARD Uttarakhand Regional office extended total financial assistance of Rs 5,061 crore, comprising Rs 5,044 crore as credit support and Rs 17 crore towards developmental initiatives. This represents an increase of nearly 19 per cent over the previous financial year.
In the area of refinance, NABARD provided Rs 4,179 crore to Cooperative Banks and Uttarakhand Gramin Bank, while Long-Term Refinance (LTR) recorded a significant 53 per cent growth during this period. Under Direct Refinance Assistance (DRA) disbursements of Rs 2,004 crore were made, while crop loan business was at Rs 756 crore.
The Foundation Day celebrations will feature a special presentation on NABARD’s 45-year development journey and its contribution to agriculture and rural development in Uttarakhand. Outstanding cooperative institutions, Self-Help Groups, Farmer Producer Organisations and women entrepreneurs will also be felicitated
The chief general manager, NABARD Uttarakhand Pankaj Yadav said that the Uttarakhand Regional Office’s achievements during FY 2025–26 reflect the collective efforts of the State government, banks, cooperative institutions and other development partners.
