Nainital Milk Producers Cooperative Federation Limited informed on Thursday that the union would sell ‘Standard’ milk to its customers in green polythene bags. In addition to this, the milk union would soon launch a return polythene drive as part of its environmental conservation initiative.
The president of the federation Mukesh Bora said that adhering to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India norms, they would start selling the Aanchal ‘Standard’ milk ‘Shakti’ in the eco-friendly green poly packs instead of the red poly packs to the customers in Nainital district as well as across the State. He further said that until the old poly packs are exhausted, the milk union will continue to sell one litre ‘Standard’ milk in red poly packs. Reiterating the milk union’s commitment to the cause of the environment, Bora said that they are all set to launch a polythene return drive and added that this drive would also promote Aanchal Milk in the face of stiff competition in the milk and dairy products’ market.
