The MLA, Nainital, Sarita Arya met the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Dehradun and discussed the problems being faced by the people from the disaster-affected areas under Nainital Assembly constituency limits. She specifically demanded compensation for the loss of livestock in the Bajun area under Bhimtal development block, immediate repair of the damaged roads, including Shaheed Balwant Singh Marg and Nainital’s Lower Mall Road, and immediate relief for the affected people.
Submitting a letter to the CM, the MLA requested that rural areas be excluded from the development authority’s purview, stating that including rural areas within the authority’s jurisdiction would create unnecessary difficulties for the locals in house construction and repair projects.
She also met the State Forest minister, Subodh Uniyal and urged him to take initiatives to clear decks for building roads inside forest areas.
