Young Abhishek Sharma’s whirlwind knock (74 off just 39 deliveries) powered India to prove once again their dominance over arch-rival Pakistan, sealing a six-wicket win in their Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash in Dubai. Chasing a target of 172, the Men in Blue despite early stumbles wrested the win.

Sharma walked in when India was in trouble with the chase looking tricky, but his calculated aggression from the very start, smashing six boundaries and five towering sixes, made things look easy. His half-century, scored in just 24 balls, took off the pressure from India and turned it back   on Pakistan. By the time his innings came to an end, India was already within sight of victory.

On the batting front for Pakistan, opener Sahibzada Farhan with 58 guided his side to a competitive total of 171/5. But Pakistan failed to take advantage of the death overs in the face of miserly spells by the  India’s bowlers, especially Shivam Dube.

Shivam Dube took two wickets while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya took one each.
