MCD sets up dog feeding points in Doon’s 24 wards

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has set up dog feeding points in 24 municipal wards and is working to identify similar spots in the remaining wards where dog lovers can feed community dogs. The action is being taken in accordance with Supreme Court directions.
According to senior municipal veterinary officer Dr Varun Agrawal the dog feeding points have so far been set up in 24 wards, while the identification process is still underway in several other wards. The wards where the dog feeding points are functional include Rajpur, Kaulagarh, Ballupur, Yamuna Colony, Vasant Vihar, Defence Colony, Turner Road, Race Course, Mothrowala, Kedarpur, Mohabbewala, Chanderbani, Navada, Balawala, Nathuwala and other areas of Dehradun.
Agrawal said that the municipal corporation has appealed to all councillors, public representatives and resident welfare associations to actively come forward and suggest suitable locations for dog feeding points in their respective areas.
He further said that the municipal corporation is fully committed to implementing the SC directions systematically and humanely. As part of the process, supervisors have been appointed for each ward and their contact details have been shared to ensure proper monitoring and coordination, Agrawal added.
