The organisation of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand will prevent players from migrating for training, a coach selected for the Dronacharya Award, Subhash Rana said. He said that hosting the National Games is a significant opportunity for the State. With this event, a vast infrastructure for sports will be developed in Uttarakhand, allowing local sports talent to train without the need to relocate.
Rana believes that the situation will evolve in such a way that players from other States may come to Uttarakhand for training instead. Additionally, he noted that the lack of facilities has so far caused players to participate in sports from other States. Therefore, he views this event as a means to reduce migration of players from the State.
Rana congratulated chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for organising the National Games. He further added that wherever the National Games are held, significant sports infrastructure is created, providing talents with an opportunity to advance and grow. The infrastructure that was expected to take 10 to 20 years to develop in Uttarakhand will be established within a short time frame due to the National Games. This will greatly benefit emerging talents and help the State reach new heights in sports, he said.
Rana emphasised that many players representing other states in various sports are now interested in playing for Uttarakhand. He confirmed this in a conversation, revealing that many players have sought him out for opportunities. Additionally, players are reaching out to other sports federations as well.
Further, Dhami congratulated Rana for being selected for the Dronacharya Award, stating that he has enhanced Uttarakhand’s prestige. He noted that the state is making remarkable progress in the field of sports and that the organisation of the National Games will mark a new chapter in sports development. He encouraged all players and coaches who have represented Uttarakhand and the country in sports to contribute their efforts to the National Games.
