National Science Day celebration held at Regional Science Centre by UCOST

National Science Day was celebrated at the Regional Science Centre, Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) here on Saturday culminating in the valedictory session of the two-day Innovation Festival. This year’s National Science Day theme was “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat”.
Speaking as the chief guest, Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh Chauhan emphasised that fostering scientific temperament is essential for societal progress and sustainable development. He encouraged students to actively engage in science and innovation to contribute towards nation-building. He also motivated the students to develop leadership qualities. UCOST director general Durgesh Pant also expressed his views.
A science march was also organised to draw attention to contemporary scientific issues. More than 200 students from various schools across Dehradun participated in the march. A special session chaired by HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University vice chancellor Bhanu Duggal focused on advancements and innovations in the medical sector. Duggal also addressed the gathering on emerging trends and research-driven developments in healthcare. Another special session titled “Inspiring Innovation” was also held on the occasion. A science demonstration lecture featuring hands-on experiments further captivated the participants, encouraging experiential learning and curiosity-driven inquiry. UCOST joint director DP Uniyal presented the programme report of the Innovation Festival. Winners of various competitions were also felicitated by the chief guest during the event.
