The Election Commission of India has delisted 11 registered unrecognised political parties (RUPP) of Uttarakhand. The delisted parties are those which in the last six years have not participated in any Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections in the last six years. The commission has also given a time period of 30 days to delisted parties to submit their last appeal.
The delisted RUPPs are Bharat Qaumi Dal, village Latherdeva- Hun, Jhabreda, Haridwar, Bharat Pariwar Party Jwalapur, Haridwar, Bharatiya Mool Niwas Samaj Party, Bhagat Singh Colony, Adhoiwala, Dehradun, Bharatiya Samrat Subhash Sena, Ajitpur, Kankhal, Haridwar, Bharatiya Antyodaya Party, Preet Vihar, Niranjanpur, Uttarakhand, Bharatiya Gram Nagar Vikas Party, Niranjanpur, Uttarakhand, Bharatiya Gram Nagar Vikas Party, Ekta Vihar, Kandoli, Dehradun, Gorkha Democratic Front, Chandrabani, Dehradun, Peoples Party, Subhash Nagar, Roorkee, Haridwar, Prajatantra Party of India Bambghera, Ramnagar, Nainital , Suraj Sewa Dal, Fatehpur, Haldwani, Nainital and Uttarakhand Janshakti Party, Haridwar bypass Dehradun.
Pertinently the ECI had delisted six RUPP in the first phase on August 9 this year. The commission has so far delisted 17 RUPP this year.
