New education authority to enable progress of minority children: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

Welcoming the dissolution of the Madarsa board and incorporation of the minority education authority in the State, the Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that this is a revolutionary step which will open the way to progress and a bright future for children of the minority community. He also requested all, especially the Congress, to rise above partisan politics and narrow thinking to cooperate in the interests of the State and society.

Reacting to the State government’s decision to bring in the minority education authority in place of the Madarsa board, Bhatt said that this will bring about an unprecedented improvement in the educational and administrative arrangements in minority educational institutions. “Children of all segments including Muslims, Jains, Sikhs and others will now receive uniform opportunities for education. Going beyond the traditional bounds, the children will be connected to modern education, information technology and skill development. The degrees and certificates received under this system will receive proper importance in the public and private sectors, opening the way to progress for youth of the minority communities,” he said.

Lambasting the Congress for its appeasement politics, Bhatt said that the opposition should welcome this novel initiative in Uttarakhand if it wants children of minorities to receive modern education, recognised degrees and progress as part of the mainstream. He said that it is unfortunate that the opposition doesn’t appear to be doing so with Congress leaders and some organisations attempting to incite the Muslim community simply for political gains and other ulterior motives.
