Trio caught supplying prescription drugs to students and labourers

The police arrested three men including two students from an educational institution in Selaqui and a medical store operator on charges of supplying prescription drugs to students and labourers for profit in Dehradun. The accused were allegedly purchasing the capsules from a medical store to resell them at higher prices to cover personal expenses.
According to the officials, the police arrested Shadab Siddiqui and Mohammad Mohid late on Monday during a checking operation, recovering 480 prescription capsules from their possession. The police registered a case against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The officials stated that the interrogation revealed that both the accused were residents of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh and living together in a rented room in Selaqui. They claimed that they were sourcing the capsules from Waseem, the operator of Shan Medical Store in Jamnipur.
The police then arrested Waseem and recovered 50 prescription capsules from him. A total of 530 capsules and a vehicle with registration number UK07T D4797 were seized. All three accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and further action is being taken against them, the police added.
