No point in celebrating CBI probe request in UKSSSC paper leak: Congress

Questioning the rationale behind the celebrations in the BJP State party office on Tuesday the Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the paper leak case is not something to be celebrated. She said that it shows that the government machinery and system of conducting recruitment examinations in the State has failed completely.
Dasauni said that following his announcement, the CM will now send a request to the union government for a CBI probe and it is the centre which has to decide on the CBI probe in the paper leak case. “For the people of Uttarakhand it is like ‘once bitten, twice shy’ as they remember very well that in 2017 the then CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had promised CBI inquiry in the NH 74 scam but the probe was never ordered,’’ she said adding that both the UKSSSC and the BJP have lost their credibility.
She said that the BJP got an overwhelming majority in the elections since 2017 and there is a triple engine government in the State but the paper leak cases are continuing with an alarming regularity.
Dasauni said that the government has decided to request the union government for a CBI probe in the graduate level examination of Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) which shows that the state is unable to conduct even a single examination in a transparent manner. She said that the government should remove the chairperson of the UKSSSC, GS Martolia from his post immediately.
Dasauni said that the BJP leaders heaped insult on the unemployed sitting on protest for eight days, terming them anti Sanatan and anti-nationals. The president of State BJP referred to the unemployed as illiterates. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave the communal colour to the episode by coining the term ‘Nakal Jihad’. She said that the BJP leaders should now seek apology for their derogatory comments and statements.
