No Vehicle Day observed at Information directorate

The officers and the employees of the Information department of the State observed ‘No Vehicle Day’ on Saturday. Following the order of the director general (DG) information Bashidhar Tiwari, all the employees reached their offices by using public transport, electric vehicles or bicycles. Some of the employees preferred to walk to their offices.
Setting an example, the DG Banshidhar Tiwari took a bicycle to come to his office at the Information directorate. The additional director Ashish Tripathi came to the office by using public transport. Joint director KS Chauhan walked 15 kilometres from his home to the office.
DG Tiwari said that after the appeal made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi many decisions were taken by the State cabinet chaired by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that the cabinet decisions include promoting work from home culture, taking energy saving measures and others. The DG said that observing ‘ No Vehicle Day’ was one of these decisions. Tiwari expressed happiness that everyone in the department followed the advice. He said that such little measures on our part will not only help in conserving energy, saving valuable foreign exchange of the country and conserving the environment but are also good for the health.
