The State government has taken a decision to cancel all the attachments of teachers and employees made during the previous academic session in the School Education department. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the School Education department chaired by cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat on Saturday. The minister said that the decision has been taken in order to ensure that there is disruption in the schools from where the teachers and other employees were sent on attachments. He said that the attachments will be made in the new session as per the requirement.

In the meeting, Rawat directed the officers to fill all the vacant posts of teachers in the Atal Utkrisht Vidyalayas (AUV) within a week. He directed the officers to start the process of counselling for the teachers who had passed the screening test for placements in AUVs. He said that the appointment of teachers on vacant posts in AUVs should be done on priority, so that the teacher shortage in schools can be addressed immediately.

The minister also directed that the vacant posts in the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) should be filled on deputation.  He stated that filling these vacant positions is essential to ensure the smooth functioning of the teacher training programmes at the SCERT. The minister said that until a separate structure of SCERT is approved, it has been decided to fill the vacant positions through deputation as an alternative arrangement.

Rawat directed the officers of the department to coordinate with the Finance and Personnel departments and prepare the regulations for the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) so that they can be presented in the next meeting of the State cabinet.

Secretary School Education Ravinath Raman, director general Deepti Singh, director Secondary Education Mukul Sati, additional director Secondary (Kumaon) Meharban Singh Bisht, AD Paramendra Kumar and other officers of the department attended the meeting.
