Following discussions at a meeting of the national office-bearers and members of the Election Commission in Ramgarh, the decision was taken to form a constitution amendment committee.

The Uttar Pradesh unit president, Surendra Dubey has been appointed as the convener of the committee. The national president Ras Bihari, national general secretary Pradeep Tiwari, national treasurer Arvind Singh, national vice-president Kamalkant Upmanyu,  Uttarakhand state vice-presidents Ram Chandra Kanojia and Rajiv Nainam have been named as members.

It was also decided that the first meeting of the committee would be held in Mathura on May 4 and 5, where the draft amendments would be discussed in detail.
