Industrialist and senior member of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), Mahendra Sharma has donated an amount of Rs one crore to the temple committee. The BKTC president Hemant Dwivedi, said that a native of Himachal Pradesh, Sharma has been a BKTC member for a decade. “He has made significant contributions to the development of pilgrimage sites across the country and to improving pilgrim facilities,” he said, adding that this is an inspiration for other devotees.
Sharma said that he has deep faith in Lord Badrinath and Kedarnath, and so this donation is a symbol of that devotion. “I am sure that the temple committee will use this amount for religious purposes, giving better facilities for the devotees,” he said. The BKTC vice-president, Rishi Prasad Sati, in-charge officer Girish Chauhan and the temple officer Rajendra Chauhan were also present on the occasion.
