OMS scheme reintroduced for price stabilisation

The Government of India has reintroduced the Open Market Sales scheme (Domestic) from the month of November this year. The sale under this scheme is being implemented to intervene in the market for price stabilisation of wheat/Ata. The FCI, Uttarakhand region, in its e-auction dated November 7, 2025, has offered 3500 MT of wheat (of all crop year) under OMSS (D) from seven centres/ locations spread across the State.
Under the scheme, Wheat would be sold @ Rs 2550 per quintal for wheat of all crop years (plus transportation charges and applicable taxes). The e-auction would be conducted on the m-junction platform weekly. Officials said that the intent of the scheme is that the benefit of open sale in terms of assured supply of wheat at a reasonable price to the processors of wheat /flour millers/ manufacturers of wheat products should be passed on to the consumers.
