Maharaj urges pilgrims to follow Govt guidelines during Kedarnath Yatra

Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj said that pilgrims must follow government guidelines during the Kedarnath Yatra to ensure a safe journey. He urged all visitors to consult a doctor before starting the Yatra and carry required medicines and documents, including ID and travel permits. The portal of Kedarnath temple was opened on Friday in the presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Maharaj said that United India Insurance Company, through Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), has provided accident insurance of Rs 10 crore for pilgrims visiting the Char Dham, with Rs 2.5 crore allocated per shrine. T
he insurance covers stampedes, natural disasters and terrorism. Human Upliftment Service Committee paid the insurance premium of Rs 3.67 lakh including taxes and handed over the cheque to the CM, he added.
