Online betting racket busted in Raiwala, 4 held

Raiwala police busted an online betting racket and arrested four men on Wednesday. The police recovered Rs 1.84 lakh cash, a laptop, several mobile phones, ATM cards and other documents from their rented flat in Haripur Kalan area.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sahil Ahuja (22), Suraj (23), Hemant Sharma (30) and Darshan Jagnani (22). All of them are from Madhya Pradesh.
According to police, the accused were running an illegal online betting operation from the flat. They were taking money from people through different bank accounts and managing betting transactions using websites and mobile apps. The police found chats and records related to betting on their devices
“While on duty in the Haripur Kalan area, we noticed a suspicious person. We stopped him and asked for his details. He identified himself as Darshan Jagnani. On suspicion, we went to the flat he had mentioned. Inside, three persons were found sitting on mattresses with a laptop and six mobile phones,” a police officer said.
During questioning, the accused are said to have admitted that they had started this work about two months ago. They had rented the flat to carry out the illegal activity away from their hometown in Madhya Pradesh.
Police said that the accused were using multiple bank accounts and ATM cards to deposit and withdraw money. All four accused have been arrested, and further investigation is going on to find other people involved in the racket, police said.
