Rain and thunderstorms also likely in some areas of Doon

The maximum temperature has continued to fluctuate by a couple of degrees in Dehradun with the relief provided by showers on Tuesday evening, forgotten due to the heat experienced on Wednesday. However, rain and thunderstorms are likely in some parts of Dehradun on Thursday. The State meteorological centre has also issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, intense showers and gusty wind (wind speed 40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places especially in the mountainous regions of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the mountains and very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in the plains of the State today.

Dehradun is likely to witness partly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thunderstorms likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 37 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Wednesday were 36.4 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.8 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.6 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.2 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
