Orange uniform mandatory for MCD’s QRT personnel

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Monday made it mandatory for Quick Response Team (QRT) personnel to wear orange-coloured uniforms along with protective glasses during field duties. Dehradun municipal commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey said that the step has been taken to give QRT staff a distinct identity and ensure that they are easily recognisable during the civic operations across the city. All personnel have been directed to follow the new dress code while on duty.
The orange uniform has been introduced to make QRT members clearly visible during the outdoor assignments and enforcement drives. The protective glasses are intended to safeguard their eyes from dust, debris and other risks encountered during fieldwork, Pandey said.
The QRT is deployed for anti-encroachment drives, sanitation-related work, emergency response and other enforcement activities carried out by MCD. He said that the standard uniform will also help improve coordination with other departments during joint operations.
According to Pandey, the move is expected to enhance discipline and professionalism in field operations while ensuring better public interaction and quicker identification of staff on ground. He said that the implementation of the new uniform will be strictly monitored and all QRT personnel have been instructed to comply with the guidelines during the official duties.
