Orthopaedic surgeon absent at District Hospital: Patients return

Patients are facing difficulties due to the absence of the orthopaedic surgeon at the city’s government B D Pandey District Hospital. He is out for training. Though the hospital management had promised to arrange for an alternative doctor things did not happen and the patients returned without treatment.

Notably, doctors from the Haldwani base hospital, Garampani, and Sitarganj were supposed to work at the district hospital during the surgeon’s absence. Despite the departmental orders, the doctors had not arrived.

The PMS, District Hospital, Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta said that doctors were being deployed at the CMO level. The CMO, Dr Harish Chandra Pant stated that alternative arrangements were being made through correspondence. The director, Dr Kamlesh Pandey said that the CMO had been instructed to deploy doctors from Garampani, Haldwani Base Hospital and Sitarganj.
