Panchayati Raj dept & IIM, Kashipur ink MoU under RGSA

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Saturday between the Panchayati Raj department, Uttarakhand, and Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur under the Centrally sponsored scheme Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. The director, Panchayati Raj, Uttarakhand Nidhi Yadav and the dean of IIM, Kashipur, Prof Kunal Ganguly put their signatures in the MoU at the Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Dehradun.
Under the MoU, IIM, Kashipur will provide training for capacity building of elected representatives and personnel/officers of Panchayati Raj for enhancement and development of leadership, management and administrative capabilities.
The Panchayati Raj department sources said that training modules under the signed MoU would teach good governance, principles of leadership, participatory planning and resource management, digital and e-governance in Panchayati Raj institutions, financial management and budgeting in Panchayats, dialogue and dispute resolution with the community and management skills on modern and technology-based systems within and outside the State.
On this occasion, the deputy director, Panchayati Raj, Manoj Kumar Tiwari and the joint director, Himali Joshi were present.
