Paris Olympics bronze medalist praises Trishul shooting range in Doon

Haryana’s ace shooter and Paris Olympics bronze medalist Sarabjot Singh praised the Trishul shooting range at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun on Sunday. Competing in the 10-metre shooting event in the ongoing 38th National Games, he delivered a stellar performance, securing a place in the finals. Sarabjot, who won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics alongside Manu Bhaker, expressed his admiration for the shooting range, calling it the best in the country. Singh, representing Haryana in the ongoing National Games, will compete in the finals on Monday. Speaking about the infrastructure, he compared the shooting range with those in Delhi and Bhopal, stating that while those ranges are excellent, the one in Dehradun stands out. He said that such advanced shooting facilities are usually found only in foreign countries, making this range a significant addition to India’s sports infrastructure. Discussing the future of shooting in India, Sarabjot expressed optimism, stating that the country has great potential in the sport and that Uttarakhand, too, holds promising talent. When asked about the impact of his Olympic bronze medal, he acknowledged an increase in popularity but mentioned that he prefers to live a simple life and remain focused on his game. Later, as soon as he stepped out after his match, his fans surrounded him who were eager to take pictures with him.
Arun Singh, who played a key role in providing technical assistance in building the Trishul shooting range, also expressed his satisfaction over the response to the shooting range by the ace shooter. He said that the facility continues to meet high standards, especially in the National Games. He stated that the appreciation from top-tier athletes like Sarabjot is a testament to the range’s excellence.
