Parmarth Niketan celebrates Swami Chidanand’s birthday as Environment Service Day

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the 73rd birthday of Swami Chidanand Saraswati was celebrated at Parmarth Niketan. To mark the day, a programme dedicated to environment was organised and it was attended by the Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammad Khan, the former chief minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar and yoga guru Baba Ramdev among others. A number of foreign dignitaries were also present on the occasion. In his address, Khan spoke volume of Indian culture, saying that it is environment-sensitive.
Swami Chidanand said that this was an environmental service festival and added that in India life is intrinsically connected with nature. He further said that Parmarth Niketan would strive to make India disability-free.
