Patanjali & Indian Army ink MoU on wellness of military personnel

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Indian Army and Patanjali Yogpeeth at the Indian Army Headquarters, North India Region, Bareilly on Friday with focus on the wellness of the uniformed personnel through Yoga and Ayurveda. Several senior army officers, including GOC in C Central Command lieutenant general NS Raja Subramani , GOC North India Zone lieutenant general RC Tiwari, Commander, Headquarters 9 (Independent Mountain Brigade Group) brigadier Aman Anand and Major Vivek Jacob (CLAW, Global) were present while Patanjali was represented by the general secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Acharya Balkrishna.
Patanjali said in a release that this development while showcasing the importance of Yoga and Ayurveda will ensure overall wellness of the country’s military personnel stationed in the high-altitude Himalayan regions. The release further said that the Patanjali Yogpeeth and the Indian Army have committed through this MoU to work together in the fields of research on medicinal plants, diverse applications of information technology and automation. Several relevant matters like arresting migration from the mountainous villages, strengthening border security, enhancing facilities in the Vibrant Villages and generating employment opportunities for the local people through boosting adventure-related sports and activities featured in the discussion that followed the MoU signing ceremony.
