Free health camp organised at B D Pandey District Hospital

A free health camp was organised at Government B D Pandey District Hospital at the initiative of the Nainital MLA Sarita Arya under Empowered Women, Healthy Family campaign. Aside from Arya, the chief medical officer, Dr Harish Chandra Pant and chief medical superintendent Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta were present. A total of 524 individuals were examined at the camp.
Addressing the camp, Arya said that the people of the State have been benefiting from the government-run Ayushman Yojana under which treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is free at government and private hospitals.
Dr Tamta said that free healthcare facilities are being provided to the people of Kumaon region under the Empowered Women, Healthy Family campaign.
Dr Pant informed that the Health department is providing all health-related facilities to the people through such camps. Ayushman cards are being made, disability certificates are being issued and medicines are being distributed, he said, adding that free ultrasounds and X-rays are also being performed along with haemoglobin tests and vaccinations.
