Pauri police nabs matrimonial fraud accused, from Faridabad

The Pauri police nabbed four accused, including a Nigerian, from their rented house in Faridabad on Wednesday for committing matrimonial fraud. The senior district police officers privy to the details of the investigation said that a resident of Khoonibadh in Kotdwar Raghubir Singh Negi had filed a complaint with the Kotwali, Kotdwar on February 22, 2022, stating that a woman named Annushri Kishore Ramraaj had duped him of Rs 3.30 lakh by creating a fake profile on a matrimonial website to exchange foreign currency for marriage. In response, Pauri police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the accused woman identified as Annushri Kishore Ramraaj. Taking serious note of the complaint, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pauri, Shweta Chaubey had instructed police personnel to constitute a team to investigate the alleged crime and arrest the accused. On the instruction, the additional superintendent of police, Kotdwar, Jaya Baluni had formed a team. With tips- off and the help of surveillance, the police team arrested four individuals from Faridabad in Haryana on Wednesday. The quartet has been identified as Chinosi Royakato, citizen of Nigeria; Mamta (34) and Usha (37), both residents of Delhi and Mohammed Taarif (26), resident of Bareilly of Uttar Pradesh.
In the light of the case, the police advised the people to remain vigilant while searching for life partners through matrimonial websites.
