The new Managing Director of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) PC Dhyani took charge on Thursday. His appointment was made by a selection committee headed by the chief secretary. Listing his priorities, Dhyani said that he will strive to establish UPCL as a consumer-centric, modern and profit-making power distribution company.
He stated that special attention will be paid to strengthening the distribution network, utilizing smart technologies and expanding digital services to ensure quality, reliable and uninterrupted power supply to all consumers in the State. Dhyani directed all distribution officers to take effective steps to curb power theft, increase revenue collection and improve operational efficiency, focusing on increasing billing efficiency.
Dhyani said that special action plans will be developed to modernize power infrastructure, implement smart metering, digitize consumer services, make the grievance redressal system more effective and improve the quality of power supply in remote and mountainous areas. He stressed that all matters related to promotions, ACP and others of the officers and employees should be resolved in a timely manner and that necessary supplies should be secured for the monsoon season. Dhyani also directed that the work required to maintain a smooth electrical system be completed on time in view of the divine and grand Kumbh Mela to be held next year.
Dhyani has worked as director (Human Resources) in Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL) and also held the additional responsibility of MD (In-Charge), PTCUL.
