The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Hemant Dwivedi said that allegations levelled by the Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal are an attempt to divert the focus away from the Congress’ shameful actions. Addressing the media at the Bharatiya Janata Party State headquarters on Monday, he said that Badrinath and Kedarnath are the focus of faith of the nation and not the properties of any political parties. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took serious cognisance of the recent allegations regarding theft of donations in Badrinath Dham with a high-level investigation underway on his directions. The action is neither aimed at saving anyone or defaming anyone. The authorities want the truth to be known to all, Dwivedi said.
“Three types of inquiries are underway in this matter- Special Investigation Team, department inquiry and the high-level inquiry. The PCC chief told the media that the second accused in the Badrinath donation case said that he was being instructed by his superiors. Where did Godiyal get this information from? Was he in communication with the accused or is he receiving information from the police investigation underway in the case? I ask this as this claim is neither known to me nor in the public domain,” he said.
Dwivedi claimed that anyone found guilty in stealing donations made to Badrinath Dham will not be spared. He said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already clarified that no guilty person will be spared.
“I want to ask Godiyal whether he received instructions from Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi when he was heading the BKTC. We don’t carry any grudge against an individual or a party but strongly support a transparent and responsible system. Godiyal said that the person accused on Monday was close to me though the person was appointed in 2003,” Dwivedi said while citing various aspects to link the accused to the PCC chief
