The recently appointed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Thalisain in Pauri district on Saturday. Addressing the party workers and local people, Godiyal said that the corruption is at its peak in Uttarakhand and the youngsters are being pushed into the mire of unemployment
He said that the government is making tall promises about development but things are totally different on the ground. The employees are working in an atmosphere of fear and the democratic values are being constantly attacked. The PCC president said that the government wants to divert the attention of the general public from real issues and is engaged in the politics of repression. He averred that the Congress party will continue to fight for the rights of the people and will wage a war against corruption.
Nagar Panchayat president Bera Devi and other leaders accompanied Godiyal.
