In latest Uttarakhand news, during a public hearing programme chaired by the Nainital district magistrate Vandana at the DM’s camp office in Haldwani, those who attended it apprised the DM of problems pertaining to crumbling roads, drinking water scarcity, power outages, non-payment of pensions, encroachment of public spaces and financial assistances. Many of the grievances were redressed on the spot while the DM spoke to the officers concerned on phone, asking them to redress these grievances at the earliest. She appealed to the people not go near rivers and seasonal streams as they are now swollen with rain incessantly lashing the district. She further assured that the road stretches damaged by rain would be repaired soon and the district administration is on an alert mode round the clock with the monsoon reaching its peak.
