A new and transparent process of evaluation of work and academic performance of the contractual professors has started in Kumaun University. Under this process, the contractual professors of Management and Commerce Faculty were evaluated on the first day.
Both the external and internal experts were present and assessed the teaching methods and academic contribution of the professors. Since innovation and publications are an essential part of higher education to ensure maximum academic quality, every contractual professor was asked to give a presentation on research publications/book publications and projects done in the past five years. On this basis, grades were given to all the professors.
Hailing the new evaluation process, the vice- chancellor, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat said that this initiative is an effort to give a new direction to the academic environment of the university. “With research/innovation and quality publications being the priority of the university,
we are inspiring young teachers to take our academic standards to greater heights,” he added.
