Eye Donation Fortnight observed at B D Pandey Hospital

With the Government B D Pandey District Hospital, Nainital observing the National Eye Donation Fortnight, the ophthalmologist Dr Snehi Kanyal addressed patients and their attendants on the importance of eye donation.
Notably, the drive started on August 25 and will continue till September 8.
Dr Kanyal said that any person of any age, whose eye membrane is clean and healthy, could give an affidavit for posthumous eye donation. “If it is not done, the individual’s next of kin could file the affidavit to the effect of eye donation within six hours after death,” the ophthalmologist said.
Further, PMS of the district hospital, Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta spoke on the occasion and urged everyone present to make others aware of the importance of eye donation.
