Phooldei celebrated at CM’s residence

Uttarakhand’s traditional festival Phooldei was celebrated with enthusiasm at the residence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami here on Saturday.
Children dressed in traditional attire placed fresh flowers and rice at the doorstep of the CM’s house. They sang folk songs such as ‘Phool Dei-Chhamma Dei’ and wished joy and happiness to everyone. The CM and his family members welcomed the children and gave them gifts.
He said that the Phooldei celebrates the State’s rich folk culture, traditions and respect for nature. He said that this festival gives the message of nature’s beauty and infuses new energy to life with the arrival of the spring. This festival demonstrates that one should always express gratitude to mother nature.
He said that the festival gives a message of gratitude towards nature, welcoming spring and preserving our folk culture and it inspires us to remain connected to our roots and introduce these invaluable traditions to the coming generations.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand’s folk culture and folk festivals are our cultural heritage and it is our collective responsibility to protect them. He said that we should celebrate our folk festivals with great enthusiasm so that these festivals are passed onto future generations.
