PM Modi greets audience in Garhwali & Kumaoni

Prime Minister Narendra Modi struck a direct chord with the huge crowd at the Jaswant Ground in Garhi Cantt when he started his address with local dialects Garhwali and Kumaoni. Wearing an Uttarakhand cap with a crest of Brahmkamal, Modi touched an emotional chord by offering his deep reverence for the Panch Kedar, Panch Badri and Panch Prayag in his speech. He also mentioned local deities Santhala Devi and Dat Kali in his address. The PM said that these deities have blessed Dehradun.In his address, Modi also extended his greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Baisakhi, Bohag Bihu and Puthandu, noting that the inauguration coincides with a period of festive celebration across India.
