Acting on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Save Fuel – Save the Environment’ pledge, the Member of Parliament from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency and former Union minister, Ajay Bhatt chose to avail public transport on way to Delhi. Before boarding a Roadways bus from Haldwani bus station on Friday, he said that it was his duty to help the PM’s vision of self-reliant India through energy conservation and environmental protection become a reality.
“In the current times, it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to nation-building by adopting small, yet positive changes in their daily lives. Greater use of public transportation such as buses, trains and shared vehicles not only saves fuel but also plays a vital role in environmental protection through reducing pollution levels. This will help provide a cleaner, safer and better environment for future generations,” Bhatt said.
He appealed to the people to reduce unnecessary use of private vehicles and give priority to public transport and make energy conservation a public participation-driven campaign. “Every step, however small, if taken with the spirit of Nation First, will leave a great impact, pushing India to emerge stronger and self-reliant,” he noted.
