Police arrest man and woman for murder of his paramour

The Haridwar police have arrested a man and his woman accomplice for allegedly murdering his paramour and then burning her body which was found dumped on the side of the highway in Haridwar about a week ago. According to the police, the main accused first strangled his lover and then poured diesel over the body before burning it.
It will be recalled that a partially burnt body of a woman was found on the side of the highway in the Gajiwala area of Shyampur area of Haridwar on October 18. Senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal also reached the scene and formed a special team to investigate the case. The police checked footage from more than 300 CCTV cameras and identified a white container truck with the help of cameras with automatic number plate recognition system. Police investigations also revealed that one Seema Khatun had been reported missing in Udham Singh Nagar district. The police narrowed down on Kashipur resident Salman Khan (30) and his woman accomplice. According to the police, it was revealed during questioning that Khatun was with Khan in his truck on October 17. They had a quarrel on the way, after which Khan allegedly strangled her and dumped the body in Shyampur where he also set it on fire. The police arrested the two accused.
