Dehradun police on Tuesday served a proclamation order against the fugitive Asif Baba alias Asif Malik who is wanted in an attempt to murder case registered in Kotwali Nagar police station.
Police said that the accused has been on the run in connection with a reported attack on one Priyansh Jain with sharp weapons at a hotel’s basement near Araghar Chowk on June 28, leaving him grievously injured.
Police said that despite several teams remaining on the lookout for him following issuance of non-bailable warrant by court, he is still elusive. Following a court order, a police team visited his residence in Mehuwala and declared him a proclaimed offender amidst beating drums in the presence of witnesses.
Police further pasted the copies of the court notice on the main gate of his house and at prominent public places in the area.
Police warned the accused to appear before the court, failing which further legal action, including attachment of property, might be taken as per the law.
